Exactly how cancellation, auto-charge mandates, and refunds work — the policy Razorpay reads hardest, written plainly.

The short version

  • Try before you pay: every new account gets a one-time 15-day free trial — that is your evaluation window, no card required.
  • Cancel anytime from the app’s billing page. No calls, no forms, no retention scripts.
  • When you cancel, your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for; after that you move to the Free plan and auto-charges stop.
  • Monthly plans: no pro-rata refunds for a partial month.
  • Prepaid yearly / 3-year plans: full refund within 14 days of purchase; non-refundable after.
  • Wrong or duplicate charge? Tell us within 30 days and we will make it right.

The free trial is the evaluation window

Every new Kounterr account starts with a one-time 15-day free trial of paid features. No card or mandate is required, so nothing can be charged during the trial. When it ends, paid features pause until you choose a plan — your data stays safe either way.

Because you can evaluate Kounterr fully before paying anything, paid subscriptions are governed by the cancellation and refund rules below rather than a money-back guarantee.

How to cancel

The business owner can cancel from the app’s Billing page (app.kounterr.com/billing) at any time, in a few clicks. If you get stuck, write to support@kounterr.com or WhatsApp us at +91-74640-50526 and we will cancel it for you.

When you cancel:

  • your paid plan remains active until the end of the current billing period — you keep what you paid for;
  • at the end of that period your account moves to the Free plan, and your records remain exportable (read-only history is kept for 90 days, per our Terms);
  • no further charges are made.

How auto-charges stop

Paid plans are recurring subscriptions billed through Razorpay under a payment mandate you authorise at checkout (for example UPI Autopay or card). Cancelling your subscription cancels that mandate with Razorpay — no future charges will be raised after the period you have already paid for.

Under the RBI’s e-mandate framework, your bank or UPI app also sends you a pre-debit notification before each recurring charge, so a renewal never lands unannounced.

Your bank or UPI app may take a few days to reflect the mandate cancellation on its side; this does not affect the fact that no further charge will be made. You can also revoke the mandate directly in your UPI app or with your bank at any time — though cancelling from the Kounterr billing page is the cleanest way, since it updates your plan too.

Refunds

Monthly subscriptions. We do not give pro-rata refunds for partial months. Cancel whenever you like — you keep access until the end of the month you paid for, and nothing more is charged.

Prepaid yearly and 3-year plans. These carry a 14-day refund window from the date of purchase: if Kounterr is not right for you, tell us within 14 days and we will refund the purchase in full. After 14 days, prepaid plans are non-refundable — the discount is the trade-off for the commitment.

If we materially reduce what your paid plan includes during a period you have prepaid, you may cancel and we will refund the unused portion — that is on us, not you.

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method via Razorpay, normally within 5–7 business days of approval (your bank may take a little longer to post it).

Duplicate, failed, or wrong charges

  • Duplicate or incorrect charge: write to support@kounterr.com as soon as possible — ideally within 30 days of the charge — with the payment reference. Verified duplicates and billing errors are refunded in full.
  • Charged but not activated: if a payment succeeds but your plan does not activate, contact us — we will either activate it immediately or refund the charge in full.
  • Failed renewal: if a renewal charge fails, Razorpay may retry it. If it cannot be collected, your account moves toward the Free plan as described in the Terms — we never charge a “reactivation fee”.
